my take
The dead days between Christmas and New Year are exactly when a 10 km helps. Nearly 800 people finished the last edition, so the field carries you round.
about the event
52nd edition of the year-end road race, starting and finishing in the Sportcampus Saar stadium. The 10 km main race at 14:00 runs mostly through the Saarbrücken city forest, with a flat 4.4 km campus loop at 12:30, a 2.2 km youth race at 13:20 and a 1 km children's race at 13:40. Free parking in the university garage, about five minutes from the start.
Preparing for Silvesterlauf Saarbrücken 2026?
Race day is Sun 27 Dec 2026, in 57 days. Counted back from that date, a two-week taper would start on Mon 14 Dec 2026; the planner lays out base, build and peak from the day you set it. The taper is the one phase with a meta-analysed optimum: about two weeks, training volume cut by 41 to 60 percent, intensity and frequency kept (Bosquet et al. 2007). A standard structure, not a training plan and not medical advice.
