About the event (2026 edition)
The 37th Silvesterlauf in Trier takes place on Thursday 31 December 2026 on a 1 km loop through the old town, with start and finish on the Hauptmarkt. The programme opens at 13:00 with samba drummers and a welcome by the mayor, then runs through bambini, children's and teen races, two 5 km elite races at 15:00 and 15:30, and 5 km open races from 16:00. Registration is online only and closes on 23 December.

No refund for no-shows, but if the club cancels the race it refunds the fees in full, even in case of force majeure.

Timing uses a single-use chip built into the bib (net times for the open races).

The bambini 0.6 km loop runs Hauptmarkt, Fleischstraße, Kornmarkt, Johann-Philipp-Straße, Brotstraße, Grabenstraße, Hauptmarkt. A refreshment point and the medical service are in the finish area on the Hauptmarkt.
