The one global GitHub date worth blocking out: a genuinely free livestream of the keynotes at 17:00 Luxembourg time, no travel budget needed.

about the event

GitHub's flagship developer conference, two days at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. You do not need to fly: GitHub sells a virtual pass it labels "free", which covers the streamed keynotes, the virtual-only content and the recorded sessions afterwards. The opening keynote is 9:00 AM Pacific on 28 October, which is 17:00 in Luxembourg, and the closing keynote is 2:00 PM Pacific on 29 October, or 22:00 Luxembourg time. In-person passes cost 1399 dollars and GitHub marks them as selling fast, so the virtual seat is the sensible route from here.
