About the event (2027 edition)

The Hunnefeier is Schengen's end-of-harvest festival, a celebration marking the close of the wine-growing season in Luxembourg's Moselle valley. The festival takes place in the village of Schengen and features local wines, a grape harvest procession, live music and seasonal food. Winegrowers from the surrounding area present their new vintages. The event is listed by Visit Luxembourg and Visit Moselle and typically falls on a Sunday in October. Schengen's location at the tripoint of Luxembourg, France and Germany gives the Hunnefeier a cross-border flavour, with visitors arriving from all three countries.

The 2027 Hunnefeier is expected on Sunday 17 October 2027, a date estimated from previous editions (held on the third Sunday of October in 2024, 2025 and 2026); the organiser has not announced it yet. Organised by the Syndicat d'Initiative Schengen, the Hunnefeier marks the end of the grape harvest on the Moselle. The programme usually includes tastings of wine, crémant and grape juice, more than 100 craft and produce stands, live music, street artists and a vintage tractor meeting, as well as the Schengener Hinnchen, a clay rooster designed each year by an artist. This page will be updated as soon as the official date is published.
