my take

A full-scale opera production in Luxembourg City is rarer than the concert calendar suggests, so this one fills up.

about the event

Verdi's Otello in Ted Huffman's staging at the Grand Théâtre (Grande Salle), with three performances: Thursday 15 October 2026 at 19:30, Sunday 18 October at 17:00 and Wednesday 21 October at 19:30. Giulio Cilona conducts the Luxembourg Philharmonic. Sung in Italian with French and German surtitles, about 2 hours 40 minutes with an interval; Jérôme Wigny gives an introduction in French half an hour before each performance. Tickets cost 65, 40 or 25 euros for adults and 8 euros for young people; the Kulturpass is accepted.
